Timings of the School Day

In the morning, the playground gates will be open from 8:30am onwards and parents and children are welcome to gather on the playground from this time. Please do not bring any animals onto the school premises except for service animals via prior arrangement with the leadership team.

At 8:45am or at 12:15pm, all nursery classes enter their classrooms via their classroom doors. At 8:50am, reception enter school through their classroom doors and KS1 line up on the playground. This helps to ensure that the day starts promptly and that the children feel safe as they are greeted by a familiar member of the year group team. We operate a 'meet and greet' system for every child. 

Nursery sessions finish at 11:45am or 3:15pm; children can be collected from their classroom doors. The school day finishes at 3:20pm and children will be seen out by their teachers and teaching assistants onto the playground. If your child will be collected by someone who does not usually collect them, please let us know via the school office. 

The school gates are locked at 9:00am to ensure the school site is secured, and are reopened again from 3pm, other than the nursery gates which are opened briefly for those parents collecting or dropping off in the middle of the day. Access to the school between these times is via the main reception entrance, accessible via School Street. The school gates then remain open for parents to collect children from after school clubs until 6pm.

The DfE has stated that all schools must provide at least a 32.5 hour week for their pupils, and we meet this requirement in full.
