Personal development
At Dunchurch Boughton C of E Infant Academy and Nursery we are committed to supporting every child to grow into a confident, kind and curious individuals. Our Personal Development and SMSC (spiritual, moral, social and cultural) provision is woven through all areas of school life and underpins our Christian values.
We nurture children’s personal development by ensuring they:
- Feel safe, valued and cared for
- Develop positive relationships with adults and peers
- Learn to understand and manage their emotions
- Build resilience, independence and confidence
- Show respect for others and the world around them
- Have opportunities to develop their unique talents and interests
This begins in the Early Years and continues consistently throughout our infant school.
Our personal development curriculum, as can be seen in the documents below, sets out how we support children to develop as a whole child. This provides opportunities for children to develop their unique talents and interests both within and beyond the academic curriculum.
