Internet Safety

Internet Safety

E-Safety is an important part of keeping children safe at Dunchurch Boughton CofE Infant Academy. The children are introduced to e-safety from nursery, with their understanding extending as they move through the school. The children use the internet on a regular basis as part of their learning. We teach e-safety every half term and they are taught how to stay safe and behave appropriately online with the help of ‘be-safety’.

We encourage our children to use various pieces of technology within our school to deepen their learning; it is a fun, enjoyable experience.

We can only succeed in keeping children safe online if we work with parents to ensure the e-safety message is consistent. It is important that parents also speak to their children about how they can keep safe and behave appropriately online.

We have attached some links below to support parents and carers in keeping their children safe online:

Always be careful when you are using the internet. It can help you to keep in touch with your friends and help your education – but it can also cause harm – to you and to others.

Remember help is always available at school if you are having any problems online.

Don’t be afraid to talk to your teacher or another adult at school.

Tips for staying safe online:

  • Make sure you keep new online friends strictly online. If someone you don't know asks to be your online friend you must ensure an adult knows about it.

  • Know how to use the CEOP Button and how to report it to the CEOP Centre if you are concerned about someone’s online behaviour towards you.
