Timings of the School Day

In the morning, the playground gates will be open from 8:30am onwards and you and your children are welcome to gather on the playground from this time. Please do not bring any animals onto the school premises (except for service animals).

We ask that Reception children are dropped off at their classroom door between 8:45am and 8:50am. This helps to ensure that the day starts promptly and that the children feel safe as they are greeted by a familiar member of the Reception team.

At 8:50am, Year 1 enter school through their classroom doors and Year 2 line up on the playground and are led into school.

The school day finishes at 3:20pm, and children will be seen out by their teachers and teaching assistants on to the playground. For the safety of the children, they will not be allowed to leave until an adult has arrived to collect them. If your child is going home with someone different than usual, please let the school office know by midday that same day. 

The school gates are locked at 9:00am to ensure the school site is secured. The gates are reopened again from 3pm. Access to the school between these times may only be made via the main reception entrance accessible via School Street.

The DfE has stated that all schools must provide at least a 32.5 hour week for their pupils by September 2024 at the latest and we meet this requirement.
