Our Nursery
WELCOME TO NURSERY
Our nursery offers excellent early years education for children from the age of 2 years 6 months until the end of their pre-school year. Our fully qualified team of staff offer the children a warm, welcoming and secure environment, building strong foundations tailored to the age and development of the child.
Our Nursery is an integral part of our school community and is rooted in our school vision, “Roots to Grow, Wings to Fly,” inspired by the parable of the mustard seed. This vision underpins our Nursery provision, as we nurture children by giving them strong foundations for learning while supporting them to grow in confidence, independence and curiosity. We have one rising threes class and two pre-school classes, providing a warm, supportive and stimulating environment where every child is known and valued. As part of the wider school, we follow a whole‑school curriculum and focus on developing the key skills children need to flourish, including communication, social development, independence and a love of learning, ensuring they are well prepared for the transition into school.
Our outdoor area is an essential part of our nursery provision and reflects our commitment to being an all‑weathers nursery. Children are given regular opportunities to free‑flow outdoors whatever the season, supporting their physical wellbeing, confidence and resilience. The outdoor environment is thoughtfully planned to target all areas of children’s development and to encourage curiosity, creativity and safe risk‑taking. Children can challenge themselves on climbing equipment, explore textures and imaginative play in the mud kitchen and sand area, develop coordination and teamwork in the bikes and cars area, and immerse themselves in a variety of role‑play opportunities. High‑quality learning experiences are carefully planned and delivered outdoors, ensuring that learning remains meaningful, purposeful and engaging beyond the classroom.
During the last half term before the children move from pre-school into reception, they are given the opportunity to spend time in the reception classrooms. This ensures that the transition between the two is as smooth as it can be.
